Take a break and relax~
Today, I want to talk about a "classic" cocktail!
It's the Old Fashioned!
There are several theories about the origin of the name, but the most famous story is that in the late 1800s, as fancy cocktails with muddled fruits and liqueurs became popular in bars, traditional customers would ask for their drinks "the old-fashioned way," which is a well-known tale.
Since it's such a famous cocktail, there are many variations, but today we'll focus on the recipe for the most well-known version!
Ingredients
- 45ml Bourbon whiskey (or rye whiskey can also be used)
- 15ml soda water
- 1 teaspoon powdered sugar (or sugar syrup can also be used)
- 1-2 dashes of Angostura bitters
- Sliced orange (orange zest)
- Cherry (garnish, optional)
Recipe
- Place sugar (or syrup) in the glass, and add Angostura bitters.
- Fill with soda water or mineral water and mix with a muddler.
- Add a large ice cube.
- Pour in the whiskey and stir.
- Finally, add garnishes, etc.
If we look for something special among the ingredients, it's that it contains bourbon whiskey and Angostura bitters.
Who remembers what bourbon whiskey is from the whiskey classification episode? Raise your hands~~! I believe everyone remembers..
What is Angostura bitters?
Think of it as a "concentrated spice" infused with herbs & spices in alcohol.
It has a high alcohol content (about 44-45% ABV), but it serves as a seasoning that captures flavor with just a few drops (dash)! It has notes of clove, cinnamon, bitter herbs, citrus peel, and herbal essence.
Starting with sweet and delicious ingredients, if you gradually dive into the classics, you'll eventually want to try an Old Fashioned.
The more classic the cocktail, the more it relies on the bartender's skill, so why not give it a try?

Now, let's learn about Momentum Finance, which can supply liquidity to Dex just like providing liquidity to alcohol!
Regular users can use swap โ CLMM LP โ xSUI staking/strategy vaults, while power users and projects can manage treasury and liquidity through MSafe (multi-sig/vesting) and cross-chain onboarding. The overall design focuses on reward alignment and attracting long-term liquidity based on the ve(3,3) model.
Airdrop/reward program (Bricks points): The Momentum Building Program is in operation, allowing users to earn points through activities like swaps/LPs.
I'm totally bullish on it.

Take a break and go ~
In the previous posts, we quickly skimmed through some good basic knowledge about whiskey~ ใ
ใ
Now, let's return to the cocktail introduction! (It's not a secret that my knowledge is limited)
The cocktail I will introduce today is Blue Sky.
It includes the liqueur, Peach Tree, which I introduced in the last series!
Blue Sky is a vodka-based cocktail (which roughly means it has a higher alcohol content due to vodka ใ
) *It belongs to the shooter category!
*Shooter: A shot cocktail that you drink all at once.
It's been a while since I made it, so I can't find a pretty photo I took. ใ
ใ
This is a photo taken at my house.
I brought a prettier photo from online.
The recipe ingredients are as follows:
(There are many variations, but this is the most commonly used recipe...)
- 10ml Vodka
- 10ml Blue Curacao
- 10ml Peach Tree
- Milk or Baileys (enough to create a cloud shape)
How to make it:
- After pouring the Peach Tree, float the vodka and Blue Curacao in that order.
*Floating: A technique of pouring the contents layer by layer into the glass without mixing them.
- Drop a few drops of milk or Baileys beautifully to create a cloud shape.
Surprisingly simple, yet when you try to make it, it can be quite tricky ใ
ใ
It's easy to mess up..
Many people might not have blue syrup called Blue Curacao at home.. but you can find it almost everywhere if you go to a bar ~
Let's enjoy our drinking life happily ใ
