Solana has a proper shot on goal to become the global bazaar for all spot assets. This has been Toly’s vision since the beginning and it has never looked closer.
Why now?
I was discussing w @TheiaResearch last year at Breakpoint about this and how Solana should technically allow all tokens from all chains.
At that time I thought it was going to happen via RFQ and cross chain intents, but I was wrong (they are too slow).
It took a year for it to happen.
Three key things happened since then:
1/ propAMMs became a thing beyond just proof of concept (tight spread on sol usdc and volume dominance)
2/ bridges have hardened: Wormhole, LZ, Chainlink are extremely well trusted and battle tested
3/ ZEC was the inflection point where the first non sol asset traded via propAMMs with super high volume
This will turn into a playbook and CEXes should hate it.
The only problem will be fragmentation (which bridge wins the canonical wrapped version).
